ABOUT REGINA
I have spent over 7 years working as a therapist. I started working with trauma while getting my Masters from the University of Northern Colorado; I completed an internship with Northern Colorado’s sexual assault advocacy and was the graduate assistant for UNC’s campus hotline which provides services to survivors of sexual assault, domestic and intimate partner violence and stalking. After that, I worked for Weld Counties community mental health center for 6 years. While there, I was trained in EMDR, led groups like Seeking Safety and TREM (two evidence-based models for treating trauma) and educated other therapists in working with diversity including with the LGBTQ+ community and with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The people I work with have described me as caring, dedicated, and persistent. I believe my job as a therapist is to be a “compassionate witness” meaning I listen and value the story of everyone who comes into my office. I find a lot of purpose in my work and have witnessed a lot of people bloom while we have worked together.
When I am not in session, I enjoy spending time with my husband, toddler and dog. You can often find me lifting weight, enjoying guilty pleasure Bravo shows, and slowly reading through books I’ve been telling others I’ve already finished.
